After another hectic week at Westminster, it was good to get back for a busy but fun couple couple of days in the constituency.

On Thursday evening I held my first of many Argyll & Bute SNP branch engagements, at which I shared my thoughts and experiences from my recent visits to Greenland and Palestine.

On Friday morning I was delighted to speak to those senior pupils currently studying Modern Studies and Business at Oban High School.
We had a lively Q&A about a wide variety of topics including Scottish Independence, Brexit, Austerity, the role of an MP and how effective MPs are at holding the government to account.

Following the Q&A, I had a really useful catch-up with Head Teacher Peter Bain before I was given a guided tour of the new campus by four senior pupils Katie, Kirsty, Angus and Mikolaj. And what wonderful ambassadors for Oban High School they were; charming, enthusiastic, intelligent and polite. A real credit to the school.

In the afternoon I held another of my supermarket drop-in surgeries and I’d like to put on record my thanks to the staff of Tesco in Oban for making it happen. Also a big thanks to all those who stopped by, either to raise specific issues with me or just for a chat. And a special shout-out to Archie Darling from Oban FM’s Drivetime Show who, like a true professional just happened to have his recorder to hand when he was in doing his messages and knocked off a quick interview for Friday’s show.
