Local MP, Brendan O’Hara has welcomed grants made over 2017 in the constituency. During the past year Corra Foundation has funded £41,522 in grants for local charities. Each year, the foundation distributes just under £1 million through its Henry Duncan Grants programme to grassroots charities working in their local communities.

In a blistering attack on the Royal Bank of Scotland, 
Argyll & Bute MP Brendan O’Hara accused the majority state-owned bank of a “shameful betrayal” of the rural communities of Argyll & Bute, following the announcement that the RBS is to close 62 of its remaining Scottish branches, including those in Rothesay, Campbeltown and Inveraray.
