“Grassroots charities receive funding boost”imageLocal MP, Brendan O’Hara has welcomed a £10,000 grant for local charities Dunoon Link Club and Shopper-Aide Ltd from Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland (the Foundation).

Every year, the Foundation distributes just under £1 million through its Henry Duncan Awards to grassroots charities working in their local communities.
Dunoon Link Club, has been awarded a grant of £5,000 towards the running costs of the club.
Shopper-Aide Ltd, Campbeltown, was awarded a grant of £5,000 towards the salary of the Help Worker

Commenting, Brendan O’Hara MP said:
“I’m delighted these grassroots charities are receiving these funds, enabling them to continue their great work in our constituency. Many of the Henry Duncan grants, like its counterparts, go on staff
and running costs, meaning they can be a lifeline for local groups in this tough financial climate.”HDA-150x150

1. For 30 years, Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland (the Foundation) has contributed to improving the lives of individuals and communities all across Scotland. The Foundation has given out almost £120 million in grants and made over 14,000 awards to countless charities. In 2014, the grant maker challenged itself to be bold and pioneering when devising a new strategy to help meet the ever-changing needs of Scottish communities.

2. The Foundation’s main grants programme, called the Henry Duncan Awards, is for grassroots charities working in local communities with people who are disadvantaged. It has six funding rounds per year and the next deadlines for applications are Deadline date. At its August Board meeting, the Board of Trustees agreed to make 28 grant awards putting over £132,421 of funding into communities all over Scotland.
