The sun shone and there can be few places I’d rather be than here in this weather. After a very busy surgery and a meeting with the island’s Ferry Users Group to discuss the serious consequences to the local economy of latest crisis with the loss of one of the ferries at this, the busiest time of the year, 12472510_1699265646993603_6997522091149245830_nI visited John Campbell, manager of the the palm-tree covered Laphroaig distillery. 13903272_1699265660326935_3651017701268972233_nThen it was off to the McTaggart Leisure Centre in Bowmore to meet some of the brave swimmers planning to swim the 3 miles across Lochindaal tomorrow to raise funds for this vital local sports facility. 13932757_1699265670326934_7073518308243756546_nIncidentally, this facility has the only view from a gym window that would ever make me want to join a gym. 13892253_1699265700326931_2572846985212857521_nAfter another constituency surgery I enjoyed a lovely social evening with the members of Islay SNP at the Gaelic college in the town. Huge thanks to Jenni Minto for all her help in making the day the huge success it was.
Off to Jura tomorrow.
