Brendan O’Hara, MP for Argyll and Bute, welcomed the announcement of the new round of Big Lottery Scotland funding today (13 July).
With £45 million earmarked for investment in community assets by 2020, the Big Lottery Scotland will focus on helping communities to acquire, manage and develop buildings, land or any other form of assets.
Mr O’Hara said of the launch,
“This is a fantastic opportunity provided by Big Lottery Scotland for organisations working at the heart of Argyll and Bute’s communities and with the austerity legacy of Messrs Cameron and Osborne, it couldn’t have come at a better time. I have met with many charities in my constituency who are all struggling with the cuts imposed on them. It’s a double whammy for people already struggling to find that the support from charities is simply not there. I would urge all those organisations to find out more about this fund and how they can apply”
